The Library & Information Centre at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is pleased to host the KohaCon16, from 30 May to 4 June 2016.

The conference is a major event in Koha community and attracts many delegates each year from around the world. The main purposes of KohaCon is sharing and exchanging experience in new functionalities, training and bug squashing, promoting collaboration to enhance the use of open source ILS and to encourage new developments in Koha.  The conference will combine high-quality plenary presentations, case studies and round table sessions, the hackfest during the last two days of the conference and social events.

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Library has selected Koha to replace its legacy commercial ILS. Our new Koha Catalog went live in late September 2015 including about 1 million records and 1.5 million items. The active users (students, faculty members, administrative staff and external users) of our library are more than 45.000. Being the library of the largest academic institution in Greece, we believe that our transition to Koha will help the open source ILS to be endorsed by more academic and other libraries in our country, and give a new boost to its dissemination and development.

We are more than Ko-ha-ppy to welcome you in Thessaloniki!

Our city is the second largest in Greece, located in the northern part of the country. Find out more about our Ko-ha-bits here.
